Rs 600 crore development projects in Pernem taluka: Chief minister

MAPUSA: Pernem taluka which is considered as the backward taluka of the state will get the developmental boost as chief minister announced that government will undertake developmental projects amounting to Rs 600 crore as a step towards making all-round development of Pernem taluka.

"The government has already initiated projects like bridges across Keri Terekhol and Tuem-Camurlim, cricket stadium at Dhargalim and the proposed Mopa airport, etc," Parrikar said, addressing the gathering at the foundation stone laying function for much awaited Pernem bus stand and market complex at Pernem.

Parrikar speaking further said that government has been always taken public interest on priority. Therefore, while formulating any scheme or project, benefit of maximum people is kept in mind. He said the proposed projects will be completed within the stipulated time period and would be inaugurated accordingly.

Speaker of Goa legislative assembly, Rajendra Arlekar, while speaking, said that government has succeeded in overcoming all hurdles in the proposed bus stand and market complex. Pernem being the taluka headquarters, these projects were essential for its development. The completion of these projects will help speed up the pace of development in Pernem taluka he added.
